Tim Horton's week-long Smile Cookie campaign returns to Ottawa on April 29 with 100% of proceeds donated to The Snowsuit Fund

Updated: Mar 25

From April 29 to May 5, Tim Hortons restaurant owners in Ottawa have again selected The Snowsuit Fund to receive 100% of local Smile Cookie sales. In Ottawa the Smile Cookie campaign funds snowsuit purchases to keep Ottawa children warm next winter.

Demand for snowsuits is increasing as more Ottawa families struggle to make ends meet. The Snowsuit Fund negotiates with Canadian suppliers and buys snowsuits year-round to ensure the best possible pricing and an abundance of snowsuits in stock when the depot doors open in September.  Last year, Ottawa Tim Hortons owners sold enough cookies to purchase nearly 40% of the 16,500 snowsuits required annually.

Buy Smile Cookies and Personality Pins in-store.

Tim Hortons guests can support The Snowsuit Fund by purchasing Smile Cookies or one of four adorable Smile Cookie personality pins: the Loopy, Bugsy, Starry and Squirmy. They can also order through the Tim Hortons mobile app or ask for a bulk order form at their local Tim Hortons restaurant for larger pre-orders.

Visit the Pop-up at EY Centre

From Thursday, April 25th, to Tuesday, April 30th, Snowsuit Fund volunteers will be at the EY Centre, 4899 Uplands Dr., selling Smile Cookies during the Ontario Youth Volleyball Championships.

Pre-ordering a dozen or more at snowsuitfund.com means free local delivery thanks to the community-minded spirit of the campaign’s generous partner, Trexity.

Ottawa Police Serve Up Smiles

All week long, Ottawa Police officers will hand out Tim Hortons Smile Cookies in the community.

There are countless ways supportive organizations can get involved:

  • Send a tasty surprise to staff working remotely

  • Build client relationships by bringing cookies when you visit

  • Let goodies remind tenants, “We love having you here!”

  • Greet staff, guests and visiting customers with a cookie smile

  • Make your customer or staff lounges even more welcoming: stock them with treats

  • Watch how cookies spread goodwill in your branch operations

  • Light up smiles at construction sites with these much-loved snacks

  • Hit a hole in one by stashing golf tournament swag bags with Smile Cookies

“We are so very grateful to Ottawa Tim Hortons Owners for again choosing The Snowsuit Fund. Our work in the community relies on generous support from events like Smile Cookie Week and partners like Trexity, Ottawa Police Service and all the organizations and individuals who buy these delicious treats,” says the fund’s incoming chair, Martin Masse. "Thanks to the efforts of so many people, children from marginalized families in our community will be warm again next winter.”
